Lil McDonald's Happy Meal
TOY DESIGN | ILLUSTRATION | RETAIL DESIGN | PACKAGING
McDonald’s nearly broke the internet when they launched their Lil McDonald’s campaign across the globe. 9 different markets participated in the campaign, creating 26 unique toys out of iconic McDonald’s items you would normally find in or outside the restaurant. Fans of all ages were rushing to McDonald’s to see if they could collect a whole set! I worked alongside toy engineers to design the printed, paper materials that brought these Lil McDonald’s toys to life. The crave for miniatures is all in the details… am I right?

Once our lil toys were packaged and ready to go, it was time to curate the retail experience. Our main objective was to encourage playtime by making kids feel BIG. To get them excited and to help them understand the scale of these toys, we shifted our perspective. Zooming in on the play pattern of the toys, while making the kids look larger than life. Encouraging kids to collect and build their own McDonald’s at home.

We transformed the Happy Meal box into the iconic McDonald’s restaurant. Setting the scene for kids so they could play McDonald’s anywhere! As much as we were obsessed with our McDonald’s dollhouse, the internet could not get over the Happy Meal box inception going on…
